Consultations

Consultation fees are charged according to the length of time a patient spends with the doctor, as per Medicare guidelines. A standard appointment is 15 minutes. Once a consultation exceeds 20 minutes, this is considered by Medicare to be 'long consultation' or item 36. All appointments after 6:00 pm on weekdays and appointments on Saturdays cost extra. Consultations are automatically timed in our computer system to ensure our patients are charged accordingly.

Repeat scripts and Referrals

There is a $25.00 - $30.00 charge for scripts and $30.00 - $35.00 charge for referrals that are issued without a consultation. Some prescriptions and referrals will not be repeated without a consultation. This is at the discretion of the doctor. We also offer bulk billed 5 minute appointments with a doctor for scripts and referrals. Please note if you discuss any other issues at this appointment you may be charged for a timed appointment.

Medicare Rebate

We can transmit your receipted account directly to Medicare on your behalf. If Medicare has your bank account details registered, the rebated amount will be deposited back into your account.

General

The stated fees are subject to change. Patients with genuine financial difficulties should discuss fees with their doctor or with our Manager

Non Medicare Card Holders

Standard Fees apply Receipts will be issued for you to claim from your insurance provider

Procedures

There will be a fee in line with the Australian Medical Association recommendations.

Work Cover & TAC

All consultations until a claim number has been provided must be paid for by the patient. Once the claim number is received, the subsequent claims will be bulk billed.

Telehealth

Telephone consultations have been introduced by the government due to the Corona virus pandemic. From the 1st of October 2020 the government ceased the bulk billing incentive and therefore these consultations may attract a fee.

 

Practice Fees
All EFTPOS payments will incur a surcharge of 1% for credit cards and 0.5% for debit cards

Failure to give adequate notice of non attendance at least 2 hours prior to an appointment will incur a charge of $50.00 for Private patients and $30.00 for Pensioners
